And the God that's presented on Yom Kippur, I think takes us, takes us back.

I, I've, I've just been reading, um, I don't know if you know that Richard Ferrier, the, uh, editor of the Jewish News, has, uh, written a novel.

Um, it's called Error 404.

This is not a plug for it, um, although I loved, I, I, I've just read it.

I mean, Ed Miliband set the tone, but then the UK Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis, who is a fanatical supporter of Israel, called the sanctions quote, a dark day for British Jews and claimed that they would embolden anti-Semitism.

The Jewish News, a very pro-Israel publication in the UK, asked Miliband whether he was putting Jewish lives at risk by imposing these very mild measures on Israeli settlements and why he had ignored the advice of Israel lobbyists and Israel lobby groups and advocates such as the Chief Rabbi, the Board of Deputies, and the Jewish Leadership Council.

So we see a reprise of very familiar tactics, treating even the mildest criticism or pressure on Israel as a threat to Jews.

And this is in order to force the politician involved to go on the defensive, to change the subject from Israel's crimes to Jewish feelings, and to demand expressions of loyalty to Israel and Zionism, which Miliband seems only too happy to provide.

And we see some of the same groups and prominent individuals and outlets that helped smear Jeremy Corbyn and destroy his leadership of the Labour Party a few years ago now appear to be turning on Miliband.

For example, former British cabinet minister Margaret Hodge, a fanatical supporter of Israel who played a major role in destroying the Labour leadership of Jeremy Corbyn.

Here she is in the Jewish news today, accompanied by a story that appears to imply that Ed Miliband is soft on so-called anti-Semitism.

The big difference, of course, from Corbyn is that Miliband is actually Jewish and an avowed Zionist, which just shows how empty and indiscriminate these kinds of anti-Semitism smears have become.

This idea that his Jewishness is somehow questionable because he's done this.

Let me just read you a paragraph from the Jewish News.

One of their columnists, Nicole Lampert, said, wrote in the middle of a piece of in reaction to the announcement she wrote cynically oh so cynically they put a Jew front and center of this Ed Miliband for the first time perhaps in his life decides to call himself a proud Jew as he digs the knife into actual proud Jews and I I thought know i read that and i and then justin webb interviewed ed miller and i thought that was a bizarre conversation where justin yeah was basically saying to ed miller band well you know how jewish are you because you know real jews who go to synagogue wouldn't say that and the question that struck me was you can't have it both ways you can't say um that Jews are distinct from the actions of the Israeli government.

And yet this man is not Jewish enough to speak for the British government.

Some of these interviews I have to pre-interview because these guys are so busy, uh, and it's hard to get them sometimes.
