This thing looks incredible when playing GameCube games.
F
18:15Federico ViticciHOST
uh you can upscale to 2x 720p because that's what this display is there's no reason to go higher than that but also you can install custom textures and so doing uh you know native upscaling to 2x on a 4x3 screen with custom textures when i play wind waker it looks glorious let me see if i can go back to the to the home screen and load my my previous save for wind waker when playing wind waker on this display with um hd textures from enrico magnifico which we mentioned on the show before and here let me quickly oh i don't have a save state here i gotta load my save But when playing those kinds of games, and I mean, the same is basically true also for something like Jet Set Radio on Dreamcast, if you're into Dreamcast emulation.
F
19:05Federico ViticciHOST
But when playing games like Wind Waker, the flat sort of graphical style, I mean, there it is.
F

Yeah, it kind of reminds me a little bit like Jet Set Radio or something like that with the graphical interface and then the different tricks you can do off rails and grinds and stuff like that.
P
26:24Patrick KleinHOST
Yeah, I've heard a lot of people relate it to Tony Hawk Pro Skater in terms of the tricks.

was cel-shaded.
R
59:59RMCHOST
It's cel-shaded in the same style as Wind Waker, just Jet Set Radio or Jet Grind Radio has more of the harsh edge, like sketching to it because it's graffiti, rather than Wind Waker, which was just smooth.
R
60:13RMCHOST
But yeah, they're the same kind of thing.

Flat shaded polygons that had a really cool look.

Whereas Square was always slower and deliberate and released a big game every year or two There’s always been these two examples of development… But I just think Capcom and Nintendo are These really healthy examples Of the Japanese Game industry And I hope that means there’s Other people who will As Damon always Says Just Do That Because It feels good To Have pillars of Awesome japanese culture again.
