This weekend, I'm continuing a message series that I started last weekend, and it's a five-weekend series.

It's called Jesus Take the Wheel, and I'm going to be looking at the theme of going God's way, going my way, choosing God's path.

The title comes from, if you're a country music fan, from Carrie Underwood, Jesus Take the Wheel.

And the chorus of the song is, Jesus take the wheel, take it from my hands, because I can't do this on my own.

I'm letting go.

So give me one more chance and save me from this road I'm on.

so today i'm beginning a new fall message series that is entitled jesus take the wheel we're back into the realities of really at the unofficial end of summer it's back to school isn't that exciting things are going back to school teachers children are excited last night at mass i asked a couple of kids how did you survive the first week they said they did really well.

I said, are you going to go back on Monday? They said, yes.

And they were excited.

Sometimes we can get caught up in saying, I'll lead and Jesus, you follow me.

And when I need your help, jump in, which we know is not the way it works, but we try to.

When we get lost or overwhelmed, we let Jesus take the wheel.

So when we get into trouble, we turn to the Lord.

He's going to make the call.
