Well, I happen to be one of those elected officials who has great working relationships across the board, whether it's Governor Pritzker, c- uh, the County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, who's been a mentor.

At the congressional level, Chuy Garcia has been someone I I'll be honest, I've idolized all my life, uh, as a true leader.

And he's leaving.

Or she just went into.

My son's eight going into third grade, uh, and my wife's age will not, will not be, uh, talked about here.

Uh, your mentor, Congressman Chuy Garcia, took a lot of heat for the way he is going out, uh, endorsing his chief of staff before anyone else knew there was an opening.

Uh, d- did he take fair criticism for that? What do you think?

I'm the first Indian American woman in the United States Congress.

We are here, my esteemed colleague Chuy Garcia and I, because we want to be very clear about two things.

Number one, we oppose the Trump administration's Don Roe foreign policy doctrine.

We oppose the unilateral executive actions that Donald Trump has been taking without our congressional authority for boat strikes, extrajudicial killings in the Caribbean and the Pacific Ocean.

They were both supporting Brandon Johnson for mayor.

They both supported, you know, Chuy Garcia for mayor back in 2009- uh, '15.

Um, and, you know, th- they've always been one and the same.

But now that there's been financial, you know, difficulties in the school system, um, and the boards that are controlled by the teacher's union, the, the teacher's union-controlled board, they decided to fire the service employees, meaning, you know, janitors, paraprofessionals, stuff like that, and not touch the teachers.

But for many different reasons, cultural, legal, um, Latino vote just isn't really that high.

So, and you saw that last time.

You know, Chuy Garcia tried to run, um, he only got 14%.

Um, there's just Latino wards, you know, they might, they might bring out 5, 6, 7,000 votes, whereas Northside w- wards would do 20,000 votes.
