Jessica Henwick

Yeah.

And also, I think we were at a very collective disappointment that Jessica Henwick wouldn't be the Iron Fist going forward.

So that kind of sucks.

You know, in the in the comics, she does.

For a full cast list of people who don't think funding transphobia that strips trans people of our rights is a deal breaker, head to the IMDb links for these projects in the show notes.

Riz Ahmed, Shirley Bassey, Matt Berry, Warwick Davis, Nick Frost, Michelle Gomez, Kit Harington, Jessica Henwick, Nicholas Hoult, Keira Knightley, Hugh Laurie, John Lithgow, Matthew Macfadyen, James McAvoy, Simon Pegg, and Indira Varma.

It is worth noting that Nicholas Hoult has since backed out of the project, citing, quote-unquote, "scheduling difficulties." Call it what you have to so you can get out of the contract, I guess, but the fan outcry over him joining this franchise was pretty big, and I certainly hope it made him realize the harm he'd be doing to both the trans community and his career.

Yes, and alongside him is a savvy, likely very cynical reporter named Helen Drew, played by Jessica Henwick.

So we have a politician and a journalist.

These are two characters whose entire existence revolves around the systems of information, truth, and power in the world before the fall.

And the thought, I think you're misremembering everything because I'm very excited about the fact that this is happening.

Now, the way that Iron Fist Season 2 ended, Colleen Wing, played by Jessica Henwick, was in possession of the Iron Fist.

And Jessica Henwick declined to return for Daredevil Born Again Season 3.

Kind of a bummer because that was something that I really wanted.

Go ahead, Brody.

Yes, the amnesia turn.

And simultaneously, you have this massive before times historical thread led by Jessica Henwick and Ashley Zuckerman uncovering the silo origins.

Which brings us to one of the most perilous tropes in television writing, amnesia.

I am so glad you brought this up because I have to challenge this writing choice.

He is a big fuckboy.

Then he meets Jessica Henwick's character, Sophia.

She is intriguing, sharp, and proves to be a challenge, calling out his behavior.

Yeah.

Meanwhile, her roommate, Misty Knight, and Misty's close friend, Colleen Wing, are in preparation for a journey of their own, a trip to Japan.

Colleen, people might remember her from the Netflix Iron Fist series played by Jessica Henwick.

Or you might not, because, you know, the Iron Fist show actually sucked.

But Colleen was a bright part of the show.

And then, of course, the action of the film kicks into high gear when he meets Sophia, who we will not actually learn her name until quite a bit later in the film.

She's played by Jessica Henwick, and this woman knows who he is.

She knows that he's a player.

She sees his game.

...

when he still has his socks on.

Yeah, uh, speaking quickly about the acting just before we sort of wrap this up, I will say if you like Jessica Henwick as an actor, she is great in the film.

Oh, yeah.
