Jessica Fox

Australia's first Australian-born governor general was Sir Isaac Isaacs, and he was also Chief Justice of our High Court.

Uh, we have had our chief scientists, our most successful business people like Frank Lowy, our state governors, um, our medical professionals, our champion athletes like Jessica Fox, uh, Olympic gold medalist.

Um, these are all proud Australian Jewish people who have never seen a conflict between their faith and the citi-- and their citizenship.

But since October seventh, and as you say, these events on the steps of the Opera House, we've seen an explosion of antisemitism, where Jews are being targeted wrongly in our country for events that are happening overseas.

Um, I also, I've, I've got, I've got a wife and two young kids, and I just struggled getting, getting to a river, to be honest.

So I did my surf two out at, um, out at the Penrith Regatta, Regatta Centre where they had the Olympics and was very lucky enough to meet the Fox sisters out there and um-

Okay

... actually one of the highlights of my training for Coast to Coast has, um...

You know, I've got a, I've, I've developed a friendship with, um, with one of the Fox sisters and, and her coach and her, her, her fiance.

She's, she's getting married in a couple, couple weeks as well.

Um-

Who are the, who are the Fox sis- sisters for those listening?

Well, that was going to be my next thing, the pathway that paddles Queensland.

From what you're saying, Scott, you sound like the perfect employer for anybody who wants to be a social paddler right through to being the next Jess Fox.

That's exactly right.

And you've got their back from the time they walk down on the banks until they step on that dice and got a gold

Could

have been the real Jess Fox of the day and age.

Here I am.

Yep, here you are.

It wasn't across the 100 go-kart comp, but it did look good.

While in Spain, Jess Fox took out gold in the K1 ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup in CU.

She overcame an early two-second penalty to score 93.77 seconds in 93.77 seconds with 322 points.

Sister Noemi narrowly missed the podium coming fourth.

What about the...

Where's the rapids going? Where's, uh, Jess Fox?

Yeah, not sure.

Uh, the news, it was just...

180.

Just moving on to Jessica Fox, who's at the Canoe Slalom, one of Whitson's favourites.

What's she

been doing? She won a sixth women's K1 World Cup title with a gold medal, but finished second overall in the C1 series after a dramatic capsize in the final.

Well, it is famously.

Shout out to our river queen, Jess Fox, who just reclaimed another world title-

Did she?

... after kidney surgery.
