Jesse Perry

Josh Heupel on the offensive line, specifically the right side of the offensive line.

Jesse Perry, Shamu Morrow, the right tackle, right guard combo.

Perry goes down for a little bit.

Haslam comes in for Sham a little bit.

I thought Donovan Haslam came in and played pretty well, right guard at points and times.

Jesse Perry got injured for a little bit, came back in.

I thought the offensive line improved throughout the game, and that's important.

Again, I don't think Sam Pendleton played his best football in his first game, but overall, you rushed for 299 yards.

I don't understand.

Jesse Perry, to me, has to be a right tackle because I can't count on anybody else.

That kid got smoked all day long.

And so he needs to figure things out.

guy did not look like he needs to be playing SEC football right now.

And so it doesn't mean he won't get there, but you see that he was raw.

So how quickly can you bring him along? Because if it's me, it's Jesse Perry at right tackle, Sham Umaroff at the right guard.

And I feel very comfortable with my line of scrimmage at that point because David Sanders will come along.

And I think they'll play the most experienced group.

which to me that features Sham Yumeroff at right guard and Jesse Perry at right tackle.

And then I think you might see some Donovan Haslam at right guard, and then we'll see how much they want to rotate after that and what they do.

I just wonder how challenging it is for Jesse Perry to play tackle one series, guard the next series, and that type of thing.

I know it's been done, but he's still a relatively young player.

So do they want to leave him somewhere and sort of just settle him in Where do they feel like Ori Williams is after his first game? I don't know.

You've got a young quarterback.

And I think they'll play the most experienced group, which to me that features Sham Yumeroff at right guard and Jesse Perry at right tackle.

And then I think you might see some Donovan Haslam at right guard.

And then we'll see how much they want to rotate after that and what they do.

I think as much as anything, it'll be something I'm watching on Saturday.

But I think it's too early to panic as far as where you go with the offensive line, I think it has to be Jesse Perry at right tackle.

I just have a lot more confidence with him than Ori Williams at this point.

As far as who's at right guard, to me, that's a bigger question.

And maybe right tackle is, too.

But I at least have more confidence that Perry is their best guy at tackle right now.

Mike, they're just going to play the most experienced group on the road, right? In week two, with a freshman quarterback making the start, I mean, isn't this the whole, we're going to put Sham Yumeroff, who played over 700 snaps at left guard, Last year at right guard and and kick Jesse Perry out and be the most experienced we can be going on the road on a night game with a freshman quarterback.

I mean, is that the logical what you do here? If you're if you're Glenn Ellerbee?

However, if you go look at the PFF grades, pretty dang bad running the football.

David Sanders, Jesse Perry, 65.

Uh, Nick Moore, 61.8. Sham, 59.

Ori Williams, 52.

But I was sitting there in the first quarter like, I mean, come on now.

Like, like, David Sanders is not playing well.

I didn't think Jesse Perry played well.

I thought the interior played a little bit better.
