Aaron Rule and Efren Ramirez and the premise is a listless and alienated teenager helps his new friend win the class presidency in their small western high school whilst dealing with his bizarre family life back home.

So this is based on a short film that Jared Hess made in 2002 with John Hedder.

Austinland is a 2013 film written and directed by Jerusha Hess, who was a writer on Napoleon Dynamite, Nacho Libre, and Gentleman Broncos, and Thelma the Unicorn.

And she is the wife of Jared Hess.

So they're like a...

probably just borrowed the costumes.

I would guess, yeah.

And according to director Jerusha Hess, Carrie Russell was pregnant throughout the shoot.

During scenes at the very end, she was like six months pregnant, although apparently it's not really noticeable that she was pregnant while filming.

A lot of what you said resonated with me.

I think whoever wrote this, and I know it was Jared Hess and Jerusha Hess, were paying attention to a lot of small details and connecting small things.

But I feel like they missed a lot of opportunities.

So the story within the story with Sam Rockwell as Bronco slash Brutus, depending on who's telling the story, uh, I feel like it could have tied more into the plot of what was happening in the real world.
