I think of course, you know, directors have to flesh things out and things change, but from the page to what it was ended up as, it was pretty much set, you know.

Well, man, the Joker right there, I mean, that's your original Bill Finger, Jerry Robinson portrayal of the Joker right down to the threats, and cold and calculating, not, uh, Cesar Romero, nothing wrong with that, uh, you know, the other things, but really just this, like, dead-eyed psycho, and, um, that's great.

And I, and I, and a- again, even down to the design really looked like that first issue of Batman from 1940, you know? I, and so, yeah, yeah, talk about designing the Joker, uh, both in, uh, voice and, uh, and, uh, physically.

Well, specifically, I mean, I've said in press that we used that first Joker story as a template.

The real genesis for the shape and design of Batman came from writer Bill Finger.

Many of Batman's other key elements, such as his nemesis the Joker, were created by Jerry Robinson.

Furthermore, Bob Kane utilized many different ghost artists in the creation of his Batman stories.

So where in fact you would see written and drawn by Bob Kane, they were in fact written and illustrated by other writers and artists.

Well, it came to me finally on that subtitle and I laughed and I thought, no, wait, he is dark.

He is stormy.

No, and it does have a serious flair to it because one of the cops actually dies, and Gordon has to go and tell their family, which I wasn't expecting that.

No, it actually threw me because it looked like they were unfollowing him.

Finger provided an account on the creation of Joker in 1966, though admittedly unsure if it was Robinson or Kane who initiated the initial concept.

I got a call from Bob Kane.

He had a new villain.

When I arrived, he was holding a playing card.

Apparently Jerry Robinson, who is often credited primarily with the creation of Joker.

Okay.

He was one of the people that they interviewed in the documentary.

By everything I checked.

But he was created by Bill Finger, Bob Kane, and Jerry Robinson, which I didn't know was a connected name before.

But he apparently not only created Robin, he also helped create the Joker.

So good to know.
