Great book, okay? in it, it was very convicting for me, but in it, Jerry Bridges goes on a deep description of just like the name pursuing holiness and what that entertains.

Jerry Bridges writes, Thankfulness to God is a recognition that God in his goodness and faithfulness has provided for us and cared for us.

Both physically and spiritually.

It is a recognition that we are totally dependent upon Him.

But also, too, that I think of it just shows the importance of why we need to always proclaim the gospel to ourselves each day.

I think of Jerry Bridges, who says that our Whereas days are never so bad that we're beyond the reach of God's grace, and yet our best days, even in our evangelism, are never so good that we are beyond the need of God's grace.

And so when we always see that we are totally reliant in a need of God, not just to save us from our sin, but even in our lives as Christians, that it should... take away any sort of self-righteousness that we have.

And that is what Jesus was adamantly against within the Gospels, always calling out the Pharisees for believing that they are somehow better than those around them.

What is holiness? I love this definition from Jerry Bridges.

Holiness is nothing less than conformity to the character of God.

Nothing less than conformity to the character of God.

He died for that sin, so we gotta get that balance right.

But, uh, yeah, some years ago, Jerry Bridges, a great Christian writer, uh, penned a book called Respectable Sins, and that's what he talked about.

There's some sins in the Christian community, you know, subtle sins we don't really talk about much.

We don't think it's quite a biggie, as you say.

And yes, we, he does bring us through hard things at times, but it's because of his love, because he cares for us.

I love Jerry Bridges.

Uh, he's got that threefold, um ...

I can't even remember which book it's from, but I, I, we got so much mileage out of this over the years, his threefold statement of, of, God.
