Jeremy Zuckerman

No surprise there.

Shout out to Jeremy Zuckerman, also a frequent guest on the podcast.

Everything felt bigger and certainly more beautiful in the sense that you had technology to work with that you didn't have access to.

Yeah.

I, I have to tell you a funny story.

I used to play in a funk band in LA, uh, called Cousin Junebug with my dear friend Jeremy Zuckerman, who also is the composer of Avatar: The Last Airbender, the number one movie, uh, on Paramount+ at the moment.

And we used to play in a, in a, a funk band, all Jewish boys [laughs] playing, uh, the JB's music.

So I used to listen and transcribe Fred's solos, and I'm so excited to have Fred Wesley here in the Trombone Corner today to share his thoughts with us and some knowledge.

My father was a b- musician, my grandmother the piano teacher.

Uh, uh, and I, I was always had music all around me.

All my father's friends were my friends, you know, that, that I played in his band.

And I always knew I was gonna be a musician, but I didn't know what, what area I was gonna be in, you know? And, uh, uh, so it, it, it was never a doubt what, what I, what I was gonna be.

Also, just a side note that...

I think it's, I want to get the name right, Jeremy Zuckerberg, I think, or Jeremy Zuckerman.

If you're talking about the composer.

Yeah, Jeremy Zuckerman.

His score in this season, especially in the final conflict with Zaheer, is phenomenal.

Absolutely some of the best in any of the Avatar shows.

It is a beautiful, if very heart-wrenching story, but it gets you to care about it.

I enjoyed my time for the most part.

Also the, when I had the music from, I think the guy's name is Jeremy Zuckerman.

It was, it felt like a cinematic version of the original score.

And I thought that was neat.
