So yeah.

Um, Jeremy Jones, uh, been a huge mentor of mine.

Um, and you know, here on the snowboarding.

He's training these people, you know, and he is also, however.

training other non-Burton riders so Burton hires him to train their team but also he's got his own team as I mentioned the Mark Fawcett's and the Jeremy Jones's of the world and so Jason kind of was saying he could see these riders crushing on symmetrical boards and Fawcett was saying this a little bit too he's like I remember I started beating Peter Bauer at some point and you know the whole question of like those symmetrical boards are looking pretty good you know I think Jason's perspective is like, hey, it wasn't necessarily that they were symmetrical that I wanted it.

It was more of like I wanted a board that flexed differently or what have you.

So it's a little, you can't kind of like draw a straight line there.

But, you know, a lot of people concurred that the ASIM boards were, you know, at that time they were great for quick turns like slalom, but just at higher speeds and, you know, events like GS and downhill, it was...

Little bit sketchball.

And Fawcett has this great story about he was telling me about Jeremy Jones when he was little 16 year old or something like that.

Fawcett thought he was probably like a little teenager.

So the John Krakauer Award, who is the best interview expert talking head? So, you know, I at one point wanted to make a film called The Big Adventure Film, which was a parody, a satire of all kind of adventure films.

And there's one thing is like you pretty much always have to have a Krakauer, often a Jimmy Chin or a Jeremy Jones step in to be the expert talking head.

He's the one that comes in, says what these guys are doing is insane because you're not allowed to say it about yourself or explain the sport in the most basic terms to the audience.

So you always have to have that.

I'm not that person.

I'm glad Jeremy Jones is doing that.

I'm glad, you know, a lot of these people in Tahoe who are like-

People like Jeremy Jones, the company Jones Snowboards has done really well with the split boards.

Anyways, what this story is, is his life story The story, he was killed in an avalanche with six other people.

Seven people were killed in the Selkirk Mountains.

We're about interesting.

So we took 50 plus of the most interesting stories and throughout the history of Mountain Gazette put them in one anthology and as we were talking about before we started recording you know Hunter S Thompson's in there Edward Abbey you know and maybe some like more local legendary names in like the Rocky Mountains like George Sibley or Dick Dorworth they're in there as well and with some modern athletes like Ingrid Backstrom and Jeremy Jones and we just wanted to show that Mountain Gazette even though we've been doing a lot to promote the magazine the last six years.

Like this is a 60 year legacy.
