I think there are a number of different responses and I've been able to kind of gauge them over the last four or so years.

And I think one is that more established curators and artists and writers are Would come out and be like, I love James Gleeson.

You know, a lot of them intersected with Gleeson when he was in his heyday, in his like 80s, getting up to late 80s and having big retrospectives at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.

And then there was Beyond the Screen of Sight here at the National Gallery of Victoria as well.

And people would describe him as, you know, a gentleman who did these kind of quite turbulent paintings and works.
