yeah so obviously this trailer has been all over the place so i think most people will have kind of seen it at some point but just to give people an idea um dakota johnson plays the lead character of low of low and ashley um anne hathaway is verity crawford and josh hartnett plays jeremy crawford and they are kind of like our main cast there's a couple of other supporting but honestly these are really the three people that we follow

I have to say, Josh Hartnett, way to go him on continuing to be like that heartthrob kind of like persona.

Honestly, and also I think he might have been working the hardest in this

Right.

Turns out the man is Jeremy Crawford, Verity's husband, and he assures Lowen that she is the perfect person for the job.

In short order, Loewen finds herself living with the Crawfords in a house, a mansion to be clear, nestled in a remote but scenic Vermont glade next to a glimmering lake.

That's where she discovers Verity herself, unable to move since being severely injured in a car accident.

lying in a bed or propped up in a chair, tended to either by an assistant or by husband Jeremy 24 hours a day.

This is the best-selling author whose writing style Lohan is being hired to emulate.

Strange things, though, start to occur.

In checking Verity's files, Lohan comes across a secret autobiography that alerts her that not everything in the house is what it seems, especially this story that Lohan has been told about the death of the Crawford's daughter who had drowned in that nearby lake.

... [laughs] I was like, "Oh, I'm sorry, did you say all of my favorite words?" Um, you know, so then I was like, "Okay, it's time to watch it." So if you haven't, before I get to you, Lowan Ashley, who's Dakota Johnson, is a young emerging writer.

She is hired by Josh Hartnett's Jeremy Crawford, who's the husband of Annie Hathaway's Verity Crawford, because unbeknownst to the public, Verity has had an accident and is now in a state of sort of like psychosis.

She can barely move.

She sort of lives in her home.

That's, that name belongs in this movie.

[laughs] I know right?

Forget Jeremy Crawford.

What about Trip Fontaine?

I'm so sorry to say.

And then the other main character here is Jeremy Crawford, the husband of Verity, played by Josh Hartnett.

And I-

Uh-oh

That guy.

Yes.

He would've made a better Jeremy.

Josh Hartnett was too old, too frumpy.

C-R-E-W. Yeah, somebody named their child that in this film.

[laughs] And, uh, so the log line is as follows: Lowen Ashley is hired by Jeremy Crawford to ghostwrite novels for his bestselling author wife, Verity, who is unable to finish following an accident.

Lowen gradually uncovers Verity's disturbing truths while residing at the Crawford's home to work.

All right, so I feel like the elephant in the room is talking about Dakota Johnson's performance, which, um, I've been watching Dakota Johnson since the 50 days, uh, fifty days, Fifty Shades of Gray days, and honestly, I don't think she's like really that great of a performer.

Like, and then Dakota Johnson, uh, leans into this, uh, marries Josh Hartnett, and is pregnant with his child after they're about to move away to, like, North Carolina or something.

And then the son is like, "Oh, I gotta go get my drawings." And she finds a floorboard that's loose.

C- so this is, uh, uh, Verity dies assuming that she's a horrible person that wants to kill her children, right? And then, uh, there's a loose floorboard that he pulls his drawings from, and there's a note down there that's, like, addressed to Josh Hartnett, Jeremy, and it basically admits that everything she wrote wasn't true, and it was the opposite and that Dakota Johnson all of a sudden feels this wave of guilt that she is now, like, married to a murderer, and the movie just kind of ends, and that's it.

And I'm just like, okay, well, is Dakota Johnson okay with this? Like, uh, is she actually an evil mastermind? 'Cause it...

Let's get into it.

Jeremy represents the extreme consequence of treating text as absolute truth without applying critical analysis.

Wow, yeah.

When a piece of text validates our deepest, darkest emotional state, and in Jeremy's case, his profound unresolved grief and his need for a target to blame, it acts like a spark on gasoline.

Because it finally has somewhere to put all that anger.

Exactly.

It's the ultimate cautionary tale about what happens when confirmation bias is paired with violent capability.

Because they really think they're the heroes of the story at this point.

Dakota Johnson plays Lohan Ashley.

Josh Hartnett plays Jeremy Crawford.

And Crew Crawford is played by Brady Wagner.

This was released on October 2, 2026.

And for you, it gets the Dark Clouds Award.

So speaking of Josh Hartnett, let's keep it moving.

We then meet Jeremy Crawford, played by the ageless and beautiful Josh Hartnett.

He's out on the street with her.

And that gave book fans their first major glimpse at how graphic the adaptation was going to be.

The Crawford House

is a real location.

The production used Beckoning Path, a retreat property in Armonk, New York, designed by Scandinavian designer Jens Kvistgaard.

I didn't even put that together.

I didn't either.

Some of the Crawford house was then rebuilt on a soundstage.

The actual house obviously looked perfect, but certain rooms were too restrictive for the cameras and lighting.
