And if you look at the characteristics of those people, I'll tell you what, it's identical.

And we've gone further than what the Lord allowed concerning those people.

I'm talking right now, friends, about none other than Jeremiah 6-7.

Either way, their prophecy was false.

Jeremiah 6 further condemns those who have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace, when there is no peace.

The true prophets, however, are willing to endure suffering for proclaiming God's truth.

God's true Old Testament prophets faced significant suffering due to their commitment to delivering the words of God.

in making decisions from that book.

Jeremiah 6, 16 gives us some insight on making good decisions.

This is a favorite verse of mine, and I actually shared it with all 10 of my grandchildren on our 50th wedding anniversary.

This was my text for them.

False teachers love to encourage false assurance.

Jeremiah 6, God describes them like this.

He says, they heal the wounds of my people lightly.

They say, peace, peace.

The methodology of the kingdom, the path that leads to life.

When you find that path and walk therein, according to Jeremiah 6:16, the Bible says, "You will find rest for your soul." It's called the ancient path.

Hallelujah.

And then number four, you must encounter the body of Christ.

No, it's returning.

We're returning to what we lost, not making up something new, right? Jeremiah 6, 16 talks about, you know, stand at the road and look, look for the ancient path.

and where the good way is and walk in it.

There's an ancient path that we are returning to of what Jesus said

That's kind of this idea that we're going for, where in any given situation, something's not the way it ought to be that we're trying to bring back into a state or create into a state that is the way it ought to be.

Let's go to Jeremiah 6, 14.

If you're new to attending with us, one of the things you'll learn about the church of God is we turn to many scriptures.

That is not always true of every church group, but we take our authority from God's word and we turn to a lot of scriptures to try to show we're not making this up.

In Jeremiah 6 and verse 14, we're only going to read this one verse.

But there's a concept here that we have to understand in order to be peacemakers.
