Jeremiah 42

So let's look at what not to do.

Um, so I'm going to talk about, or I'm going to paraphrase Jeremiah 42 and 43.

It was too long to put up there.

So I'm gonna just run y'all through it.

Okay.

So backstory, context, love context.

So, okay, Jeremiah, he's a prophet.

First, we have Israel.

But how do we know what decision to make in what scenario in this specific situation you're going through? And I'm going to take us to Jeremiah chapter 42.

This bit of situation happening in Jeremiah 42. the governor of judah has been killed and the children of israel are in exile and a lot is happening there and the remnants who are there are afraid of their lives because they're afraid of what the babylonians would do to them so the natural response i mean what they've actually decided to do is to literally flee to egypt but while they're on their way there they go hang on let's how about we find out what god wants us to do and so in verse Three, they pray something powerful.

I love it.

And this is something you can pray.

And so it's not a waste of time.

It's the most wise and practical thing we can do.

And the Bible says here in Jeremiah 42, they actually waited 10 days.

That's a long time when you are wanting to go somewhere, when you're afraid for your life.

I'm glad you're here.

Jeremiah 42.

Then all the military leaders, including Johanna and son of Kareah, and Jezaniah son of Hoshiah, and all the people from the least to the greatest, approached Jeremiah the prophet.

They said, Please pray to the Lord your God for us.

It is a revelation of Him, and He has revealed to us the heart of the Father.

Today, August 29th, We're in the book of Jeremiah, chapters 42 through 44, and the book of Ezekiel, chapter 33, starting in verse 21.

We're reading from the New Living Translation.

This is the word of the Lord.

Jeremiah 42.

Then all the military leaders, including Johanna and son of Kareah, and Jezaniah son of Hoshiah, and all the people from the least to the greatest, approached Jeremiah the prophet.

They said, Please pray to the Lord your God for us.

As you can see, we are only a tiny remnant compared to what we were before.
