Jentezen Franklin

We didn't wanna come back.

We knew that would create some drama with people, and we thought, "Let's just go to Scottsdale and start, start a new life." We were living in Orange County, and I met with my pastor because I really felt like the Lord spoke to me we had to come back to Vegas.

So I met with my pastor, Jentezen Franklin, May 2016.

We're driving down the 405.

I'm driving, he's in the passenger seat, and I said, "Pastor, I believe God's spoken to me.

I was, I texted, talked to a dear friend.

I was working on this sermon, and I was like, "I just listened to this sermon by Jentezen Franklin.

I can't believe this is what he was preaching on." Psalms 141 says, "Lord, I cry out to you.

Make haste to me." Come quick, right? Come quick.

... has some really good sermons to listen to.

Uh, I'm a big fan of, uh, Jentezen Franklin.

I think he's in Georgia.

And then of course, uh, Steven Furtick or, you know, Anthony Mitchell, I think is the, that other guy.

Mm.

Sometimes you need, in one season, sometimes you need, you know, John MacArthur, or you need, uh, [laughs] Kenneth Copeland, or you need Joel Osteen, or you need Jentezen Franklin.

And here's what I love.

In the Bible, God uses multiple voices-

2 Chronicles Chapter 16 Verse 12, "Now in the 39th year of his reign, Asa became diseased in his feet, and his malady was severe." It was a, it, it, it progressed.

I was, I was extremely lost.

I think, well, first of all, let me tell you, just early in me and Stacy's relationship, I remember being at church, and Jentezen Franklin was talking about your number one, like who your number one is.

And he said, "Let me clarify something with you.

Your number one is God." And I, and it, I mean, I could feel the breath go out of the men's air in that auditorium because there's no way I was gonna tell my girl that she wasn't number one.

I was trying to find a Jentezen Franklin so I could show some more popular evangelical, just popular pop evangelical...

I, I can't even find it.

In fact, I'm gonna show you a few of the typical thing that people see out there that to me doesn't even classify as the gospel, and this is what we need to be careful of when we're coming out of the NAR.

And if that's all I know, I go to heaven.

The thief on the cross went to heaven that way, and I'm sure he didn't have all his theology straight.

But the reason I say all this is because if you're gonna learn what your Bible says, at the very least, you're gonna need more than Jentezen Franklin or Joyce Meyer.

You know, good Bible teaching, good Bible believing.
