Jenna BrackGUEST
Um, but specifically, the miscarriage story, which is in the essay, um, called The Red Tree, that was one that originally I was not thinking of as part of the manuscript.

Jenna BrackGUEST
I had written that in a workshop with Exhale Creativity, which is a, um, group of mothers and artists, and I think I was just curious about exploring those months of my life.

Jenna BrackGUEST
They're just these really difficult months between July and October of that year.

Jenna BrackGUEST
And I was thinking about not only the experience of loss, but I was really interested in working with sounds, like the sounds of that season.

Jenna BrackGUEST
And, and then the landscape just naturally came up, so that Red Tree was always how the piece had ended.
