Twice a month, we team up with WAMU and NPR's One A News magazine for something we call Cyber Monday, and this time I spoke with One A's Jen White about a question that's getting harder and harder to answer.

Can generative AI actually be creative, or is it just copying the rest of us? [instrumental music] That question has been playing out in courtrooms all summer.

In May, a group of major publishing houses sued Meta, accusing the company of using millions of books and articles to build its generative AI models.

Then generative AI came along, and Kelly's name became a prompt.

In other words, you could type in, "Make me a Kelly McKernan," and it would.

So we went back to Kelly to talk about all of this, and we talked about that with One A's Jen White.

So why are more women dying from them? From WAMU and NPR in Washington, this is 1A.

Nearly 200 women in the US died from ectopic pregnancies in the past six years.

That's roughly double the number from the previous period.

So we return to that debate today to ask what's changed.
