Jenji Kohan

Um, I had mentors at the Red Sox and Lucchino and Colleen Riley and Charles Steinberg and a woman named Sarah McKenna who looked after me a lot.

Um, and then when I, um, and then Jenji Kohan, who's a great TV writer who did Weeds and Glow and Orange is the New Black.

And even my friends like Benj Pasek, who's one of the great musical theater writers, um, Um, I've had really good mentors and, you know, older sibling or old or parent figures in my life who, and like, I think they accompany a lot of key moments.

terrific.

That's the great Jenji Kohan who created and wrote that.

The t- thing that does worry me is that, um, as Ryan, when, when he, uh, you know, flagged, when he brought this to, across my desk, um, that Jenji Kohan, um, is not returning.

And he did make the point that, like, Lena does work well with a partner, and I think the sort of her solo efforts have not been quite as successful as one where she is with a collaborator.

Um, like Too Much on Netflix, which I did like, it kind of, like, over-indexed on some things that I wished it hadn't.

Jenji

the DP of, I believe, Orange is the New Black, Jenji Kohan.

There was a Jenji Kohan one, right? Or did I make that one up? There was some kind of...

I can't...

I'll have to...

Wow.

Um, um, Jenji Kohan was writing with Bruce Miller, who later went on to write The Handmaid's Tale.

And I went in and auditioned, and it was about the Salem witch trials, and I...

God bless Jen Euston who, like, [laughs] saw past my terrible accent.
