It is a thin market, and I do think he's a better player than most realize, and I think his value has been helped a lot this season by people realizing what he brings.

I don't think that's going to happen, but that would be fun.

But what do you make of it, guys? Because, again, I feel like you let the player that worked slip through your fingers.

And now I think it's going to be a tough few weeks where other teams are going to be, like if you see DeForest Buckner end up on the Bears, or you see, now this is the one move, and I don't know that anyone will do it, but if I'm the Bears, if I'm the Niners, if I'm the Bills, I'm calling Tennessee on Jeffrey Simmons.

And I'm offering first-round compensation.

But I'll stick with the real stuff that the Colts are triggering a fire sale.

I mean, that's the next step and I don't see any evidence he's going to take it.

And that's why I don't compare him to Jeffrey Simmons and, and, Chris Jones and the big time defensive tackles.

But in Titans land, what this means is...

The only person ever attempting to be able to slow down Jeffrey Simmons on the Colts has been Quentin Nelson.

And I say attempting to slow down because it's been one of the best battles since Jeffrey Simmons has become who he is and Quentin Nelson who's been always who he is.

It's been one of the best battles every year.

And when you look at the Titans schedule and you look down the stretch and you're looking at it and you're like, well, they have the second hardest strength of schedule in the NFL from week eight on.

To me, it's now shifting a little bit more towards a guy on defense.

Like if the Tennessee Titans are finally going to trade Jeffrey Simmons, do we go big game hunting and try to get Jeffrey Simmons, or is that a little too rich for your taste?

Yeah, so it's hard to diminish the impact of some of these guys on defense for the New York Giants, especially the de-tackle position.

We knew we weren't replacing Dexter Lawrence when we traded him to the Cincinnati Bengals, but we do know that by loading up, that was the point of emphasis this offseason because we brought in, what, six, seven defensive tackles? I mean, there was a ton of them that we brought in that we just signed, and it was like, all right, let's just see who comes through.

And ultimately, is it a big enough weakness – where you need to upgrade at the trade deadline? And what are you giving up for that person? That's the challenge.

Because I don't know if it's a big enough weakness.

Well, Jeffrey Simmons is a good enough, elite enough player where it doesn't change this year.

It changes next year and the year after.

But what if they are and people are just like, yeah, we don't want your garbage? Could be.

I mean, I don't think they would say that about Jeffrey Simmons.

And I really don't think they would say that about Tony Pollard.

Pollard's got value.

But, I mean, the Bengals are not stopping Jamar.

There's nobody on the Titans can stop Jamar Chase.

Unless line of scrimmage, you put Jeffrey Simmons on him and Jeffrey just bear hugs him when he comes up for a little

scrimmage.

I just pulled up The Athletic a couple of days ago, put a list of top 50 trade targets.

Jeffrey Simmons, who we just saw, was number one on that list.

He's a beast.

He's a pending free agent, and I think they're unsure about giving him a big contract.
