So when we had the Fed tightening in 2022 and 2023, a different thing happened than in the past.

The different thing happening was instead of a customer realizing that their bank might have been paying them sub market rates for their deposit dollars, they recognize it on their own.

And instead of calling to complain to bank and say, well, hey, you're paying me this amount of money, they just move their money.

I mean, you saw the balances and money market mutual funds going up.

They traded FDIC insurance, locational convenience.

Because these consumers, they're a lot more portable than they were 25 years ago.
