[laughs]

But then there are also legal groups that support parents' rights.

So you have groups like Alliance Defending Freedom, the Thomas More Society, the Becket Fund, uh, First Liberty, and they work to protect parents' rights in school, and a lot of those groups now have opt-out forms that you can bring to the teacher and say, "You know, I have the right because of this decision and because it violates my religious freedom to opt my child out, and so here's the form where I can do that." Or you can ask if the school has forms.

If the teacher doesn't respond well, first take some notes.

[laughs]

Yes.

Another g- thing you can do, if you wanna take it even higher, the Department of Justice, the Department of Education, they all have places online where you can file official complaints, and what's interesting is that those two agencies, the Department of Justice and the Education Department, are now investigating school districts for their policies when they're violating Title IX by letting a boy on a girls team or a boy into girls' private spaces.

And schools can lose funding.

the outside but then your entire world changed can you take us back to that time and what was happening for you

Yeah.

To put it in context.

So I'm 60, I'm 60 years old this year and I'll go back 10 years.

That's kind of where, you know, for lack of a better way to say it, where really this all began for me, um, at that particular, on that particular day, it was October 4th, 2016 to be exact.

So I was 50 years old.

Um, happily married to my lovely wife prudence for 21 years.

what do you, what do you wish parents would really understand?

Yeah.

Right? We each have different ideas of how to, to create the best food.

And so when we built our team here, it was thinking about having nutrition at the core, but making sure we have the veterinary medicine side of things, that perspective brought into the development of our foods.

So our veterinary team on the staff, um, very much looks at that.

They're part of our research, they're part of how we create our foods.

And then we have our PhD nutritionists and our formulators that are really trained in, in the needs of the animal from a nutritional perspective, and how to make sure we protect nutrients through the manufacturing process.

The way we formulate at Champion is entirely different to any other food company I'm aware of, pet food or human food, and it's really centered around, how do we make the best food? You will not find a least cost formulation button in-

Mm.

I mean, you guys are really going, I think, over and above there.

Yeah, this is an area of passion at Champion.

You know, when we built our Dog Star Kitchen in Kentucky, and then when we built this facility here in Atchison, what we really tried to do, and this is years of thinking and development that went into this, is a facility that's really built around our biologically appropriate and fresh and raw ingredient concept.

And we have a saying at Champion, it's called BAFRINO.

It's an acronym and it stands for biologically appropriate, fresh, raw ingredients, never outdone.

And so when you think about never outdone, it applies to everything we do.

We want the best ingredients.

And

Any wife that wouldn't like this story, you should divorce her.

Yes, as a matter of fact, I was going to tell mine, but every time I tell mine a story like this, she just does one of these moves and just looks at me and doesn't even say it, which hurts the most.

But she's thinking I can feel it is you're an idiot.

You know, so that's why, but I can tell her this.

I can't believe I'm telling this, but so there I was in the, perhaps the most lavish Texas ranch, honey lodge that I've ever been to.

And it sounds braggadocious here, but I've been to a ton of them.
