We might have been 16 and 17 in the D.C. odds or the New York odds.

First, it was Jeb Bush.

He was the unbeatable juggernaut.

Now, here we are.

It's interesting because that was like one of the hallmarks of Trump was attacking Jeb Bush, his opponent on the 2016 presidential primary stage, for the actions of his brother and how he prosecuted a war.

You know, Trump called that populism, and we need to stop getting involved in these wars.

That's right.

With Condoleezza Rice, a woman who has yet to learn how to read memos or say no to Jeb Bush or George Bush.

She served as the national security advisor at the time, if you recall, of the attacks and then went on to become a secretary of state.

I was anchoring in Tallahassee, Florida.

I wished for just one minute I could have been Jeb Bush's Republican political consultant because I would have turned to him at one of those debates and I would have said, listen, fat boy, I got to deal with you.

You think I'm low energy? I'll tell you what we're going to do.

You will meet me at my health club tomorrow and you're gonna do the exact same workout I do every day.

And at the end of the day, when I crush your ass, and I will crush your ass, you will withdraw from the race.

I wish I could have been there in the room and told him to do that, because that would have shut Trump up, I think, pretty quickly.

Now, I don't think it's going to end anytime soon, but I think we're at a critical point.

Critical point was not Dukakis versus George H.W. Bush in 1988.

Critical point was not when Clinton got busted with his extracurricular activities in the White House.

I don't like this idea.

I don't think it's good public policy.

I reject that any president, whether it's Obama or Clinton or Bush or Coolidge or Cleveland, gets up and says this.

I think it's a stupid thing.
