I wasn't able to find a lot of verification of this, but I did find some stories that were told at the time.

You know, they don't, he was a celebrity and he didn't do a lot of interviews.

But his students talked about him, and so did family members.

So he's born in 38, and when he's 14, this itinerant Italian painter that travels from town to town comes, and he immediately kind of, the young Jean-Paul starts hanging out with him while he's working on the local Toulouse Cathedral.
