And so a lot of times when these things come up, that's where I go.

So I wanted to kind of bring up two philosophers who I think help us give some vocabulary to what's going on with silence and solitude.

The first is Emmanuel Levinas and the second is Jean-Luc Marion.

So I think both are awesome.

But when we talk about kind of coming to know ourselves and coming to know who God is and our relationship to God and our relationship to the world around us, we're asking philosophical questions.

We're asking questions about how do I know myself? How do I experience the world around me? Like my experience of existing in the world is an important place for me to go and to look and to start and ask questions.

And so these particular philosophers in doing phenomenology, there's always what's called a reduction.

This goes all the way back to Heidegger and Husserl and some of the beginners of phenomenology.
