Jean Grey

We definitely talked about it, because-

We talked about the Shadow King as, like, one possibility, but it being Sadie Sink made us think it was un- it was, it was likely, more likely Jean Grey, or even Typhoid Mary, which is, is not her power set exactly in comics, but still, they coulda changed it around.

Right.

On that side, if any, but, like, that's why ...

What I'm getting out of it at seven or eight was not the deeper moral issues, but those ideas were being introduced to me, you know?

Mm-hmm.

And I think there's a possibility of something like that here, where, like, the idea of an entity like Jean Grey that can, like, move between bodies is kinda weird for a kid to get.

But, like, they're getting it for the first time introduced to their brain while they're just enjoying Spider-Man thwipping around the city, you know what I mean?

The King of Wakanda.

I'm gonna say Sadie Sink's Jean Grey with-

Alfred Molina.

I had Stephen, Hugh.

[laughs] I had Steve Rogers, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.

I had Garfield and Stone, and then Jean Grey and Hugh Jackman's...

Okay.

And so I

think it's a similar thing where it's just, like, Jean Grey is obviously in the X-Men universe, but these universes are all, like, collapsing upon themselves, and so she's just, like, in their universe.

Yeah.

I feel like that makes sense.

It would be.

Sixth, with Sadie Sink's X-Men cast already assembling, there's a theory Jupe, he might play a younger Iceman, then rounding out the lineup that's already got Jean Grey, Cyclops, Storm, Rogue, and Professor X.

Yeah.

I mean, Iceman feels like a smaller character to hang a mystery casting on, though, right?

She's an attractive

lady, that's fine, but this is not Jean Grey.

Jean Grey isn't a 50-year-old lady that's just drink a bottle of wine.

That was the issue I had with that.

And then some people even told me, they were like, man, this kind of seems like this is one of those movies that turns a certain way really quickly.

I'm sorry, but the story is trash.

If you're a Wolverine fan, if you're an X-Men fan, this story is trash.

And what they do in the end leads me to believe that the next game is going to be a Jean Grey game, not necessarily an X-Men.

What are some comics you haven't read in a long time that you would like to revisit? Also, I'm currently up to Inferno in my X-Men read through and really enjoying it.

Jan, what are your thoughts on X-Men? I know you have thoughts on this.

So I thought it was an interesting introduction to Jean Grey in Spider-Man Brand New Day.

I think that is setting the tone for what the mutants in the MCU are going to be like.

It's not going to be the really bright costumes for the first... class of of x-men to take

And the part that she was like, oh, I can't, I won't say that part, was that you're a parent.

so people who were paying close enough attention at that moment um when this this old member this old widow i was reading this neil point we're like oh yep nope she was a parent she was a secret parent but it wouldn't wouldn't last long before it uh It's one of those things, kind of like when you know who Jean Grey is before you have Jean Grey's name.

It's like, oh, okay.

I got a little clued in on it a couple minutes early.

Oh, little Miss Muffet.

So we have Cyclops, Jean Grey, Angel, Rogue, Storm, and Professor X. It's not bad.

We'll see if your predictions come true, Imran.

I think we're going to get Beast and Iceman.
