Today we're going to talk about the attempted hijacking of Fly Dubai Flight 1073.

And the question everyone is asking, was this an al-Qaeda operation or something new? On September 30, a Fly Dubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv was about two hours into its journey, with 174 people on board, when the plane suddenly dropped more than 17,000 feet in about two minutes.

Welcome to the Threat Podcast, where we talk about the most pressing, yet not always so visible threats to global and domestic security.

I'm Jay Solomon.

And I'm Hagar Shamali.

In the three years since Hamas's 2023 terrorist attack on Southern Israel, many Americans have been stunned to see young activist college students flood their campuses to support the militant Palestinian Islamists.

Today, we're going to discuss how Chinese linked companies are finding their way into the U.S. defense supply chain and how one of them won a piece of a multibillion dollar U.S. Army contract to test a major combat vehicles project.

And most importantly, we're going to discuss why this matters.

So to simplify this, a company effectively linked to China's missile program was brought in to test equipment for the U.S. Army.

And the question is, how did nobody catch that in the vetting process? And why is that so dangerous? I am particularly excited to talk about this story this week as Chinese President Xi Jinping visits the White House on an official state visit.

Jay, before we begin, what are your thoughts about this?

I mean, it just feels like our national security state is just totally penetrated.
