Asked Jay Pandolfo last week about that Vermont weekend where they were less than a minute away from getting swept in regulation, and they ended up getting an overtime win with a late equalizer and an early overtime goal from Ryder Ritchie.

That game, as he said, might be one that you don't want to overstate it, but it could be a turning point in the season.

They were about to get swept on the road.

Now you're heading out to take on a really good Michigan State team out in East Lansing this weekend.

That will be one that certainly both teams will get up for.

But Jay Pandolfo has his team playing really well heading into it.

You needed a little bit of a signature-type weekend for BU.

It's rare to see a freshman acclimate and kind of have that impact on games as soon as they kind of step in and seeing Caleb, how he impacts the games on both sides of the puck, I think it's been really impressive to see.

Yeah, and Aiden, I did want to follow up with that, just asking about your head coach, Jay Pandolfo, who's a two-time cup winner, NCAA champion as well, and he's worked with a lot of players who have gone on to have good NHL careers and some young guys who have had a lot of success in their early years.

What's the best thing about Jay as a coach right now, just like what he brings to players who are trying to grow their game to become pros?

I think it's just who he is as a character, who he is as a person.

I just don't see Gallant getting a job right now.

And it's not a reflection on his coaching.

I think he's a good coach.

Just a lot of other stuff.

Do I think Jeff Blashill's job is, or his seat, we'll put it as getting hot? Yeah.

Yeah, it's approaching burning stage, if you ask me.

Are you willing to change? I mean, the best example is Jay Pandolfo, my roommate.

He was one of the top players in college, scorer, offensive guy.

Matt Gilroy is back there now coaching.

Jay Pandolfo is a guy that I was able to cross paths with in pro hockey.

At the end of his career, he was with the Bruins, same time I was, which was cool.

I don't hide it.

I mean, hey, yeah, he didn't, quote-unquote, "look the best", but he's putting himself out there.

And I believe there was a quote from The Athletic that Jay Pandolfo, towards the last few games of the season, obviously BU didn't have the finish they wanted going .500, but he said something to the effect of that Lawrence was one of or the best forward on the Terriers' roster in an interview with The Athletic.

So I think that really is telling, that even if he wasn't at his full potential last year, he's going to get there and really evolve as the season goes on.

The Terriers have a lot of new players, a lot of new players this year.

For sure, and Lawrence, uh, will be a big part of that, um, whether this year or next potentially.

Um, Ryan, what have you thought about Tynan Lawrence's, uh, performance in the early going here?

I like the opportunity that he's been getting, uh, from Coach Jay Pandolfo.

And ironically, I interviewed Pandolfo, uh, the other week to, to talk about Caleb Malhotra, their fantastic freshman.

Jay Pandolfo said it was, like, just precautionary.

We'll ask him.

in his media call tomorrow if he has an update if he'll be playing this weekend for everyone but right now it just seems like it was precautionary because it was an exhibition matchup but to be able to see those high-end players really put up those top tier plays that we've kind of been waiting for since last year i want to say and then i feel like that is in part because of what we saw from those bottom six guys like rukunakis

He would take you into the NCAA, he would take you into the circles, cut right into the middle, and then unleash a shot.

We saw a little bit of that tonight, and it's almost ironic that he's playing his brother and going back to basics on that, 'cause some, that's something that Jay Pandolfo worked on them a lot with, both Cole and Lane, when it came to BU in the NCAA.
