And then he obviously goes to college, where he gets Jay Pandolfo.

Okay.

Lane's younger brother played also under Jay Pandolfo, played with Cole Iserman.

He's in Washington.

And fittingly, Villeneuve is going to be taking his talents to the college hockey scene this fall and playing for Boston University, who has done very well at churning out undersized defensemen these last couple of years with both Lane and his little brother, Cole Hudson, who's a member of the Washington Capitals organization.

So I feel like that is truly a terrific spot for Villeneuve to develop here this season, not only because of the track record that Jay Pandolfo and the Terriers have had with undersized defensemen, but also that's a program us Blackhawks fans are well familiar with at this point in time, and that program has done a really good job, I think, developing the Blackhawks prospects who have played college hockey there in recent years.

So I like where Xavier Villeneuve is.

I love his traits.

The players are too good at checking and the goaltenders are too good for your offense to be able to put up numbers on the board from that area of the ice.

And Jay Pandolfo, who coached him at DU.

said this about Iserman and the way he improved his game away from the puck.

He was getting chances, but for whatever reason, whether he was hitting a post or the goalie was making a great save, he went on a stretch where he really didn't score as much as he used to.

Yeah, for sure.

You know, I, I, I know Jay Pandolfo well, and, and it's been, you know, tremendous to see what he's done since he's taken over.

You know, and I think, you know, one of my really close friends from college, college roommate, Joe Pereira is one of the associate heads coaches there.

So no, I mean, I, I really do still follow them and, and yeah, You know, I think the college hockey landscape and the experience that I had there was so tremendous that, you know, you just like any school and any, you know, fan or player for that school, like you have so much pride, you know, in your program.

He's a really intriguing talent.

Sam Pandolfo, Jay Pandolfo's son, who's a big young man, definitely has garnered some interest from scouts as well.

You have guys that played, like Jake Prunty, who played last year in the USHL and now has moved to the national team program.

Um, so that's a really interesting one as well.

Think about that.

He played with Rick DiPietro and Calvin DeHaan and Matt Molson and Jay Pandolfo.

Excuse me.

These are guys who were teammates of Casey Zizekas or who played on the Islanders that year that he first joined the team.

What's nuts is this isn't the famous save.

That's Jay Pandolfo he's stopping.

Yeah.

It looks like the exact same save.

It was insane how good he was in these playoffs.

Uh, but the, uh, the famous play, this is in the first period.

He robs Jay Pandolfo.

It is in the second period, Flyers on the power play, where he makes the save of his career, the highlight, the thing that, like, on the book about Brian Boucher would be the cover.

You've got UConn.

And, you know, BU could have a rebound year after – not living up to Jay Pandolfo's frozen for a year expectations.

Uh, Providence is always a, uh, always a tough customer like this.

You know, this schedule is going to play very favorable for Northeastern's chances in the NPI.
