So let's start with you just telling everybody a little bit about you and your work, and then, and then we'll dive in.

Jay E. DavenportGUEST
So I am currently the vice president for development and alumni relations at Penn State University.

Jay E. DavenportGUEST
Uh, started this position just six months ago, but that is a 32-year career in higher education.

Jay E. DavenportGUEST
Started actually in admissions work, and then, um, during a chance encounter with an alumni, um, parent couple, realized I wanted to be on the alumni fundraising side instead of the admissions side, and have had a very, very interesting, uh, career from some smaller regional institutions, some fabulously successful, um, premier elite institutions.

Jay E. DavenportGUEST
And then what I found is I was really looking for more of the research institution, and that led me to VCU, where I had the university experience and then the healthcare experience, uh, at the same campus.

Jay E. DavenportGUEST
And then, um, last year Penn State reached out and asked if I would be interested.
