Seriously, if you just go by what you read by the AFL mainstream media, they've all got agendas.

That's the one thing that's a bit different from – that's one thing that was great to read, Jay Clark's article, how the concussion conference, they've banned the AFL media from covering it.

Right? Yeah, I did see that.

It doesn't happen in other countries in the world.

I think the stand of the game this year has been fantastic and a lot of it's been a legacy around the rules that he's brought in and whether it's stand or 6-6-6, I think it's improved the flow of the game enormously.

So you're the president of this football club and the news explodes in the Herald Sun via Jay Clark that there is a waiver that has been organised between the club and the player and his representatives without the AFL's full knowledge at the last moment in time.

As president, do you go back through your notes and try to work out why this wasn't lodged with the AFL and who specifically made that mistake?

Yeah, it felt like it was a real explosion in those first couple of days, didn't it? And when I was reflecting back on it, probably initially surprised about the amount of media noise and the sort of hyperbole that went with it.

I don't think that's the path at this stage you're going to go down, but I could be wrong.

I think on the point around the disrespectful side of things, Jay, I think at first in the press conference they were asked what direct feedback was given and why they'd made the decision, and they said that they weren't going to go into the ins and outs of it, which I think is fair enough.

They've come to this decision based on feedback.

They don't need to share that.

I reckon he's flat as a pancake and would feel deceived.

And then, yeah, follows all sorts of phone calls and a lot of chaos, a lot of stress for people writing it.

Now Pendlebury on, so the club knew on Wednesday that Pendlebury was done, that he was gone.
