happened? That's exactly what happened.

I had planned on heading out to the desert just before wrapping the filming for the Springsteen movie.

And so...

I had everything kind of lined up.

I had a bunch of stuff packed up, sleeping bag and sundries and water, all that stuff.

And so flying home from filming that movie, it was a very, very curious time because back in Los Angeles, we had the Palisades fire.

So what was that? And that inspired a song as well, didn't it? Yeah,

... and the Force.

And, uh, it was a very unlikely, uh, education.

I think perhaps the greatest thing that I've learned by collaborating and putting myself in this genre that I never had any intention of being in and then enjoying, um, is, is compromise, is putting myself in a position to, "Okay, okay, we're gonna be a band.

I'm not gonna leave.

I'm gonna stick it out," and looking at it and just going, "Okay, I- I'm gonna compromise here.

We're a band.

Did you have to disconnect from, uh, digital technology as well at that time to be able to just let yourself get bored?

I don't know.

I'll think that maybe that's the way it is, you know.

But I think that more than anything, it's like this act of rebellion.

It's not lost on me how crazy that sounds.

Or maybe it sounds like a bid for romanticism and maybe rock and roll artist goes on desert sabbatical.

I get that.

It really wasn't like that.

It came out, everything came about out of sheer necessity.
