Jawanza Kunjufu

Dr. Umar is not a philosopher.

Many of his ideas have been stolen from thinkers like Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu.

You ever heard of him? And many haven't.

Right.

We had to write our own skits, and all of our skits had to do with cultural things and social issues.

Uh, we would al- we would often be the entertainment when Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu was speaking, right? And so it was very culturally centered, socially centered, and we were writing about things that mattered.

We were writing about teenage pregnancy, say no to drugs, say no to sex.

That was kinda like our mantra for writing.
