In this episode of the Inside Java Newscast, we will be declassifying Java 27, or at least the parts most likely to affect developers.

If you want to learn more about the runtime changes or security updates that are part of the JDK 27 release, I will be covering those as well, but in written format on Inside Java.

There are nine GEPS JDK enhancement proposals that are part of this release.

GeoServer 3, so in true community-driven fashion, for those of you who weren't aware, GeoServer is undergoing a major upgrade to GeoServer 3 to update the underlying security framework to Spring 6, as well as upgrade to JDK 17.

This is a fairly massive crowdfunding effort, which is now fully funded, and you see some of the major contributors, which include NOAA National Ocean Service, Sea Island Software, and several others listed down there at the bottom.
