Jasper Stuyven

When I speak to teammates or ex-teammates of Pedersen in a Cobble Classic, when he's in a Cobble Classic, he's obviously always riding for himself.

So whether that dynamic with Gunnar will work out well, we saw that with Stuyven and Pedersen that in a lot of situations, Pedersen wouldn't necessarily think about Stuyven as the second rider within the tactical scope.

And I'm not just saying that, I know that from teammates.

I, um...

Ben Turner only adds to that.

But where does he fit in? Will he be given his chance alongside the likes of Jasper Stuyven? We know he can play a very similar role to Stuyven in terms of being that...

really strong teammate for the likes of Tim Malia and Paul Manier, certainly in the Grand Tours.

But presumably Ben Turner feels like he will get a better chance of his own by going to very much a classics-focused team.

And he's a decent climber as well.

He does well on those kind of rolling Grand Tour stages, doesn't he? Can get in brakes, race with his nose at the front, sniffing out opportunities.

What I think is the key factor here is that, yes, Jasper Stuyven and Dylan Van Baarle are very experienced, proven winners at Cobble Classics, but they're both 34, so the clock is ticking a little bit there.

Ben Turner's 27, and so you would think he's just about ready to kind of spread his wings and step up a level and be in the company of... you know, the real A-listers when it comes to those Cobbled Classics.
