No, it wasn't Jason Priestley.

Yeah, yeah, it's-

It was a d- it was the other nerdy s- or-

[laughs]

So just listening to that, hoping that Jason Priestley is available to play me in a film.

Sorry, I'm already going off on, on references.

So, but thank you for that beautiful intro.

They were kinda like, "Hmm." I was like, "No, just look at it." It's one of those things you gotta, you gotta go back and revisit knowing the context of it and how brilliant they both are in that film.

So that's why I went to them right away.

I was like, "That's, that's great." And then Jason Priestley as Scotty, who doesn't wear a seatbelt, so.

[laughs]

So it was kind of a bit of a double-edged sword there.

But I think so many of us hold him as Dylan because it was our first introduction to him, but also because those interviewed in the documentary I Am Luke that Jason Priestley, his co-star who played Brandon Walsh, did on him say it's because he was Dylan McKay.

And what is interesting is that he actually auditioned for Ian Ziering's part as Steve.

I couldn't imagine Luke Perry as Steve, though.

And he says something to the effect of, nobody used the word brother with me like Luke.

but he meant it.

And you can tell, as you were saying with all of his co-stars, like Dean Winters and Jason Priestley, these are people who didn't just know surface-level Luke Perry.

They knew him at a depth that you don't get a lot these days, especially with actors that are going through the industry, going from role to role.

Um, which, which was a lot of fun.

But you know who else was on that show, um, was Jason Priestley.

Okay.

Yeah.

And so, um, you know, I do these horror conventions, and I was, I was talking about before, when I was in Indianapolis, uh, Dee Snider was at one of these conventions and I was like, "Dee, it's Ira.

My God, dude, I was in your video and I was just, you know, just starting out, and now look," and everything.

He was like, "Oh my gosh, this is so great for you, and did you know that Jason Priestley was also in that video?" [laughs] I was like-

[laughs]

Well, don't you think it has a lot to do with, A, the actors, because we believe you because we're living vicariously through you, and then, B, those writers, because those two have got to come together like Daryl Hall and John Oates, and all of a sudden we now have a hit song on the TV.

You know what? I am speechless that I actually get to film this with Jason Priestley again.

We had such a grand time the first time around.

It worked so well.

The people there are very laid back.

I mean, I'm from Nova Scotia, so I'm the other coast, but it's like similar in that small town friendly vibe.
