Truly, that great moment for all of us recreated to be worshipers is that when we come together on Sundays, and our sovereign, holy, saving God chooses to meet with us, that's the high point of the Christian's week [gentle music]

Right now, though, here's Reverend Helopoulos with today's message.

Our last session together, we looked at the fact that you and I as Christians are recreated for worship, and so all of life is to be a life lived in worship.

That's true.

So all of life is to be a life lived in worship, and yet what we see in scripture is, um, what I like to call spheres.

There are these different spheres of worship within our lives.

And the three spheres that I would see in our life lived in worship to God are corporate worship, family worship, and then private worship or secret worship.

But I want to talk about corporate worship here during our time together over these next minutes.

Today, on Renewing Your Mind.

When you encounter Christ, it changes every bit of your life.

It doesn't just become a duty to glorify Him.

It becomes your delight.

It's what stirs you.

It's what shapes your mind and shapes your heart.

It's what shapes your affections.

He'll help us consider how our hearts are recreated in Christ so that He becomes our deepest love.

It's a delight to be with you.

I've been looking forward to this, where we can spend some time together, and my hope is, is that we all fall more in love with our Savior as a result of this, that we see the beauty and the gift of worship and everything that our God has given to us in the midst of that.

So hoping that's true for you.

I'm hoping that is true for me as, uh, we do this little study together here over these next sessions.

What I want to do to begin with, it seems like if we're going to talk about worship, first thing we should do is we should open up the scriptures together.

So I wanna open up with you Psalm 8, and this is a wonderful psalm, uh, by David.

You gotta contend for the faith.

This is a faith we can't lose.

You can't allow false teachers to take you away from Christ.

Why? Because the same Jesus who delivers also is coming to destroy.

There will be judgment.

And this is the faith, the faith that saves.

So what does it look like to contend for the faith once for all delivered to the saints? Here's Reverend Jason Helopoulos

What I want to do is look at verses 8 through 16 together in this session.

Remember that Jude's main theme for this letter is that he wants them to contend for the faith.

There are false teachers that are in their midst and are teaching things that are diverting God's people away from the truth that has been once for all delivered to the saints, as Jude said.

We saw in our last session that what he did, he was calling to the remembrance who God is by what God has done in the past, and he gave three stories there in verses 5 through 7.

What I want to do is look at the fourth story here in verse 8, and then as we go through, he's also gonna give us three individuals as examples as well.

But he begins in verse 8 with pointing out that these false teachers are relying upon dreams, that this is how they are diverting and they're discouraging God's people from the true Gospel.

But what does that look like?

Jude is concerned for his spiritual children, that they're forgetting.

And spiritual amnesia is one of the great dangers of the people of God.

We have this refrain over and over throughout the scriptures that we're to set up Ebenezer stones to remember who God is, what God has done, what He has promised.

Just as a reminder, you remember that Jude is writing to these churches, these Christian churches, and he wants them to contend for the faith.
