Dontay Simpson is the top 25 in sacks.

Uh, Jason Dowell is leading all the defensive tackles and snaps, and he's been a f- He- So before the season, uh, Eli and Cory Patoon, who Mizzou should sign to all the money, talked about how Jason Dowell's been, like, one of the most improved players in camp.

He's been awesome.

And through three-ish games, I was like, even, and even a bit of Mississippi State, I was like, "I don't see it." I see it.

He got 23 snaps.

They did rotate those guys a lot.

Jason Dowell played 30.

And when you're up, you know, two scores the entire second half, you kind of, you can rotate.

I don't know if they quite have that this year, but it's really good with Dayton Hopkins, the emergence of Dante Simpson.

Jason Dowell is, I, I, I mean, he's playing like an, a kid that's gonna be an absolute superstar in this league.

You know, I think he's got first round NFL draft potential down the road.

Sterling Webb coming back.

Sterling Webb coming back was huge.

Jason Dowell has been very good since the Troy game.

And Donta Simpson, who we got nervous because in camp he just wasn't playing.

He wasn't practicing with the team.

I just, I, un- And then the defensive line.

Again, I, I wanna give credit to Mark Hensley.

I wanna give credit to, to, to Jason Dowell, and Sterling Webb, and Dontay Sims.

Like, these d- this d-tackle room has been a revelation for this team.

Uh, they need the pass rush from the interior to be there, and it has been.

Dante Simpson, Jason Dowell have been very good.

Um, so I mean, there's, there are some guys that, that can step up there.

It's just, it, it is going to have to come with a consistent pressure point because it's not...

I wonder if that was a little bit more matchup based, right? 'Cause Missouri is gonna find a way to commit to stop the run.

They're gonna find a way to make Marcel Reed drop back and pass, and they're gonna let D Hop and Jason Dowell and Dante Simpson get after him in the pass rush.

And when you put pressure on Marcel Reed, statistics show that he's not as good of a quarterback.

And so I understand the experience, I understand the, the talent, right, the dual threat ability that he brings, because he's an effective runner of the ball, and that's, you know, the plus one run game is what really helps A&M, I think, get their offense going.

He's been absolutely tremendous.

But I'll just say that Dante Simpson on the inside, along with Jason Dowell, by the way, have been absolutely tremendous as well, especially getting a lot more pass pressures, pressures on the quarterback than normally you would expect from that position.

You know, Dowell's a guy sort of similar to Dayton Hopkins, I would say.

Somebody we heard a ton about in 2025 that got his feet wet in the SEC, but didn't play starters reps, anything like that.

Uh, 92 had good push in the middle.

Look at Jason Dowell, man.

I didn't see it for a long time.

I'm seeing it now.

Oh, Landon Brink, sorry, have two and a half tackles for a loss.

But it is nothing crazy defensively there.

I mean, Dayton Hopkins had six, Dante Simpson three, Jason Dowell with two for Mizzou.
