Tucson's Reed Park Zoo is grieving the passing of Jasiri, a 15-year-old male giraffe.

Zoo officials announced the death of the animal last week.

Veterinarians had been treating Jasiri for multiple health issues in the last couple months, including difficulty walking.

Jasiri had lived at the Reed Park Zoo since 2012.

In the days before his passing, he experienced respiratory problems and loss of appetite, according to the zoo.

Despite their efforts to help him get better, Jasiri's health kept declining.

That's when zoo staff decided to euthanize the animal.

The four regents who ordered these policies in the name of the boy emperor all had extensive military experience at the time of the Qing conquest and had all been involved in the factional battles under the Dorgon Regency in the late sixteen forties.
