Chad CornesHOST
2:25
Kimbo, he's got the talent to be an A-grader.
Chad CornesHOST
2:28
I heard Bicks talking about Jase Burgoyne this morning.
Chad CornesHOST
2:31
I think what we've seen this year and in his best games, potential to be an A-grader.
Kym DillonHOST
2:35
Mm.
Kym DillonHOST
3:26
Oh, yes.
Kym DillonHOST
3:26
Yeah.
Chad CornesHOST
3:26
Can he take another step? And he's probably not gonna be your A-grader, but can he be a, a good B+ like Jase Burgoyne? And I just, just saw Jordan Sweet.
Chad CornesHOST
3:36
They had twin boys yesterday, Kimbo- Kimbo.
JesseHOST
54:39
so my question is, what are, what is Port Adelaide's midfield mix gonna be? Butters is gone.
JesseHOST
54:49
Rosie, does he remain at halfback or does he go into the midfield? Exact same question for Jase Burgoyne.
JesseHOST
54:57
I think, I don't know that both of them can be halfbackers, and I don't know that both of them can be midfielders.
JesseHOST
55:02
So for me, I feel like either Rosie goes to the midfield or Jase Burgoyne goes to the midfield.
JesseHOST
55:10
Jason Horn Francis, we're all assuming is the guy, the main man in the midfield now.
JesseHOST
55:17
I still don't know that he's fully proven he has the fitness to be a full-time midfielder, but I'm assuming he will be told, "You're a full-time midfielder, so get your fitness up." But, you know.
Jon RalphGUEST
6:01
So we all understand why they now have three first round draft picks next year, of course, 'cause of Zemmer Pilot and, uh, a- and Louis Salopek but Yeah, if it is that he decides to come home, well, it's probably more likely Port Adelaide.
Jon RalphGUEST
6:15
You know, because his mates like Jase Burgoyne and Jase Wa-- Jase, um, Paul Francis, a-and they've got, yes, the salary cap a-and absolutely the picks there, and they've obviously got the, uh, Western Bulldogs pick of twenty twenty-eight.
Jon RalphGUEST
6:26
So they are stacked to the gills.
Jon RalphGUEST
6:28
They've got his good mates.
MJ WantHOST
2:16
Like, just looking at that midfield, has he been sold the opportunity that he's gonna be a first choice option in this midfield, or is he going to play that pressure and power small forward role like he did at the Crows? When I look at this Port Adelaide midfield mix, it, it does feel like it is the Hornets midfield now.
MJ WantHOST
2:36
But who are the pieces going to be building around Jason Horn Francis? Does the captain in Connor Rozee step back into the midfield now in the absence of Butters? Or is he back into that halfback role that he played so well towards the back of the 2025 season? We saw a Jase Burgoyne move into the inside midfield once pretty much everybody was out, with Rozee and Butters being injured.
MJ WantHOST
3:04
But he played well through this inside midfield role.
MJ WantHOST
3:07
Is there enough here for Josh Carr to wanna see that, or do they move him back to the wing and let those skills that the Burgoynes just all innately have be put to best use? Does Richards keep playing that split mid-forward role? Does he commit more to one than the other? And will Miles Burgman be that inside midfielder that we've all hoped he could be, and has been at moments and in games? Or is he gonna be that interceptor and playmaker back in the defensive half? Oh, and what about a Joe Berry? Um, he adds that pressure and presence inside that forward 50, but who else will do that with him? Either way, whether he's been sold the opportunity to become that inside clearance ball-winning midfielder, or if he's been sold the opportunity to be a pressure a- and a, a speed-based small forward, there's a role for him in this side.
Tim GineverHOST
43:27
And when that contract ends at the end of next year, they'll be working on that all year.
Tim GineverHOST
43:31
So they're hoping that there's that draw card too of being able to play with his best mate, Jase Burgoyne.
Tim GineverHOST
43:38
If he's not
Stephen RoweHOST
43:38
signed by round 14, he's going to Port.
Sam EdmundHOST
60:19
Do you-
Kane CornesHOST
60:20
And then Jase Burgoyne at one.
Kane CornesHOST
60:21
Um-
Sam EdmundHOST
60:22
Really?
Sam EdmundHOST
60:49
So that's the 10 guys who need a big pre-season.
Sam EdmundHOST
60:51
Big off-season, big pre-season.
Sam EdmundHOST
60:53
Murphy, Reed, MacAndrew, McKercher, Curtin, Philp, Weddle, Lawler, Ethan Reed, and Jase Burgoyne.
Sam EdmundHOST
61:00
Uh, a few texts coming through on your list.
Brad JohnsonHOST
2:37
Will- Willem Drew, the experience, tag of role.
Brad JohnsonHOST
2:40
Then you got Jase Burgoyne, Joe Richards, and Miles Bergman.
Brad JohnsonHOST
2:43
Now, those three have had enough time this year in and around the, the center bounce in particular, but in around clearance to sort of say, well, um, maybe there's a little bit there, especially for Jase Burg and Joe Richards I, I like as a player.
Brad JohnsonHOST
2:56
And I know Bergman plays many different roles for, for Port Adelaide, but maybe that's where he does become, um, more settled because of his size and, and his, and his experience.
