I, uh, at one point I was like, "I'm gonna try and track everybody who's on the show," and then I gave that up and I was like, "Nope, there's too many other things to track, so I'm not doing it." So, well, I'm super glad you're here.

I, I love having you on to talk about Jars of Clay, but I'm also, I'm always excited when you get to come on to the show and talk about something else.

Yeah.

So I'm actually really excited to have you, uh, just to talk about not Jars of Clay, 'cause you can do other things.

I'm sure of it.

I'm absolutely positive.

We'll, we'll see.

I remember one of the first times when they had a big meeting after the first night of camp, and they're like, hey, we're not sure we can let these guys keep going.

And this is not what we do, because we had kicked off camp with Flood by Jars of Clay.

Oh, wow.

And we thought that was super cool, and the kids thought it was super cool, but the powers that be were not confident in that.

I think they always did worship, but they became mostly focused on worship.

And then Newsboys, Third Day, Jars of Clay, I think even all did worship albums.

And then some other random bands that like never did worship stuff started doing worship too.

Cutlass.

And also, I feel like the the quality became it became much more of an industry.

And so a lot of it was sort of same, like everything kind of felt the same.

And I just remember like growing up listening to different groups and it's like Jars of Clay sounds very distinct from Newsboys and they sound very distinct from DC Talk and Third Day kind of had their own thing.

And I felt by like the mid 2000s, it just was kind of like everybody was trying to sound the same.

And so they gave me a pen, a legal pad, and a phone.

That was all the training I got, and, uh, and when I said I hope something neat happens, the f- the, what, what was neat that happened was the first band that I got to book was this band called Jars of Clay that-

Yeah.

Like, I think that's a good song, and it was current to what was going on at the time.

I think the other band that I was thinking, kind of like a some-hit wonder, is Jars of Clay and one of their songs called Flood.

Oh, yeah.

Flood was their biggest song that really mapped them.
