Jarry Park

People fell in love with the intimacy, kind of like what a lot of us grew up with in baseball.

People over-romanticize Jarry Park, um-

... because it wasn't as great as people remember it, but it was kind of cool that it was so intimate.

Today, I spoke with Randy Legault-Rankin, the candidate for the Liberal Party here in Laurier-Dorion.

We met in Jarry Park, and he was here to pitch to voters why they should vote for the Liberal Party of Quebec.

A- and, and there's, there's a, it's a slippery slope we're getting on, and I feel like our authorities are there to remind us of the importance of respecting each other, and this bylaw to me is justified in the current context where nobody respects anyone anymore.

All right, I'm gonna squeeze in one more topic, 'cause also at City Hall last night, the mayor made it clear on this front, Montreal will not allow an expansion of the tennis stadium footprint at Jarry Park.

She says she won't compromise on quality of life of citizens in the neighborhood.

This puts the city at odds with Tennis Canada's hopes to add a roof and other facilities at Jarry Park or otherwise risk losing the very popular tennis tournament to another city with better, better amenities in the future.

Guys, quickly on this one, but I, I, you know, I feel, man, this is like lack of vision here.

Sometimes we gotta have nice things, uh, even if it impacts n- the neighborhood a bit.

On veut faire des rénovations au parc Jarry, au terrain Où le tennis est présenté, puis il y a de la mobilisation, puis c'est, ça prend pas grand-chose pour que les gens réagissent si à l'instant, on a cette culture-là pour dire que ça peut être un projet commun pour que le baseball va rassembler tout le monde.

Parce que le baseball, c'est quand même quatre-vingt-une parties à Montréal.

Tu comprends ? C'est happening si on construit un quartier autour.
