It is the most high profile thing you could do where the goal is helping as many people as possible.

Today, our guest is Congressman Jared Huffman, who represents the second congressional district in California that stretches from the Golden Gate Bridge north to the Oregon border.

Representative Huffman is a humanist and the only member of Congress to publicly admit that he does not believe in gods.

An environmental lawyer by training, he is the ranking member of the House Natural Resources Committee.

He was dismissive of the miracles and the magic.

And in a letter to John Adams, he said separating the two was as easy as pulling out diamonds from a dunghill.

What else? Let me tell you about Congressman Jared Huffman.

Jared Huffman is congressman representing California's second district, which spans the north coast of the state from the Golden Gate Bridge right over here to the Oregon border.

But What's interesting is the oil and gas folks, they don't love seeing these things either because they know what comes around goes around.

A big player in the story was Jared Huffman, who's out there saying – he's telling the CEOs of these energy companies, I would not cash those settlement checks.

We're going to call this basically theft of taxpayer funds.

They're going to go after that money.

And that aim is to pull down the wall between church and state and to govern the country by one faction's reading of God's law.

My guest, California Congressman Jared Huffman, watched it take shape in real time.

On the 6th of January, 2021, he stood inside the Capitol and saw the crosses raised over the crowd.

He heard the pastors on the ground issuing prophecies while the building was breached, and understood something most of the country still has not.

Huffman is the only member of Congress who will say out loud that he does not believe in God.

In a new book entitled No Prophets, he argues that the people driving this movement mean the word theocracy exactly as it sounds, that they are already at work inside the courts and the agencies in the classrooms, and that his own party has proven unable or unwilling to so much as name the danger.
