A Bangor Savings Bank has moved to foreclose on the Falmouth home, the Falmouth home, of Abdullah Ali, the Somali American refugee poster child whose company collected roughly five million dollars per year in MaineCare payments before the Maine wire exposed allegations of systemic fraud and multiple failed audits the state had, uh, hushed up.

Ali was awarded l- lucrative low, no-bid contracts from the Mill, Mills administration, Janet Mills, and he received nearly seven hundred thousand dollars from the PPP, the Paype- Pay- Paycheck Protection Program, during the COVID-19 panic.

Yet with all that taxpayer money flowing into his bank account, the Muslim savage somehow forgot to pay his taxes in twenty twenty-three and twenty twenty-four.

So what, where, what drove, what w- what drove you, uh, drove you over the top? What, what, uh, got you to, to finally leave Maine?

I'm joined by Maine Public Statehouse Correspondent Kevin Miller and Chief Political Correspondent Steve Missler, who are here to provide an update on the governor's race.

Kevin, Governor Janet Mills has termed out so this is an open seat, but it seems like the race for governor has received less attention this year than during past elections.

Is that true?

Yeah, absolutely.

After that, he ran a D.C. lobbying firm.

And he's a pretty slick talker.

He's basically trying to portray Pingree as Janet Mills 2.0, as you heard in that earlier clip.

And he's also trying to tack to the center a bit after running a very Trumpy primary campaign.

If you had the opportunity to sit down with that governor, what would you tell him to assuade his reservations and get this to push through?

Well, the governor was one, was a woman, and it was Janet Mills.

And she did be to it.

And I this is new news to me that was around domestic violence.

A Maine state police say the rally was not violent and no one was arrested.

Maine Department of Corrections Commissioner Randy Liberty, who pioneered a rehabilitation-focused approach to corrections, is retiring at the end of the month.

Governor Janet Mills announced Liberty's departure on Wednesday, saying his life and career reflect the, quote, "...profound belief that every person deserves the opportunity for redemption." Mills said the state's recidivism rate has dropped to one of the lowest in the nation under Liberty's so-called main model, which focuses on rehabilitation, professional training, and continuing education for residents of state correctional facilities.

Deputy Commissioner Anthony Cantillo will step into the role of acting commissioner when Liberty retires.
