And we owe that to one Jane Borthwick, who was Scottish.

In 1855, Jane Borthwick translated this German song into English.

The Lord had put a burden on her heart to do that with the number of German hymns.

She was fluent in both German and English.

The words of this hymn are just beautiful.

So much so you'd have no idea they didn't originate in English.
