Uh, before he passed, I got to interview Grandmaster Jan Timman, and he would say the same thing, you know, because he lived a sort of bohemian lifestyle f- uh, even as he was one of the top players in the world.

And he said if he were coming up in the modern era, he wouldn't have been a chess player.

And obviously, you're a couple generations past him, but even to hear that it's changed that fast, that you, uh, coming up around 2012 to 2015, 2020, feel like it's already so professionalized that it wouldn't have been as fun, um, it's a little sad.
