But I asked it to do it in the style of things that I was interested in.

So I put in things like David Lynch, Jan Svankmajer, I asked it to create it in a way that was slightly distressed, so it wasn't so shiny and polished.

And I asked it to use puppets and dolls.

And it just put it all together into a narrative that really encapsulated what the entire song was about.

[laughs] Um, um, there, there is, there was my older brother who, um, who was sort of hanging out with his friend in some sort of basement where they had, like, um, VHS and DVDs, and watching horror films, and I was way too young to be part of all of that.

But I sort of got introduced into that world very early, um, which twisted my mind too soon, which meant that I ended up going to the local video and DVD shop, um, Videodrome in Berlin, and, um, started watching, you know, the, all the, the old video nasties like, um, Peter Jackson, um ... anime and, um, weird kind of, um, Czech stop-motion films by Švankmajer.

So like, um, a sort of an e- eclectic mix of weird, um, '80s, '90s stuff that, um, ended up, along with films like Amélie that are cute and beautiful and have garden gnomes in it, um, ended up, um, sort of evoking the wish to kind of try to make my own films, um, which was a long journey because I grew up to a family of scientists, and I knew no one in the industry, and I sort of had to really dig myself i- you know, um, make it all happen for myself.

Yeah, meet a whole different crowd.

And you have, like, also Alice by Jan Švankmajer.

You know, you have, like, uh, this, um...

It's like the main genre of animation films is fairytales.
