Uh, I s- spoke, uh, to Jan Shipps, who was one of the more prominent non-Mormon historians of Mormonism.

Very thoughtful lady, and I went and interviewed her because she had been an associate of Leonard Arrington, and I was working on the Arrington biography.

She'd just come back from a trip to Salt Lake and had interviewed several of the brethren for a book that she was writing.
