But there

are all sorts of waves in the atmosphere.

You have different temperature gradients, if you will, in the atmosphere.

And as light goes into an area with a different temperature, it gets refracted differently.

And so refracted, it's bent.

It's like going through a prism.

It's the same thing that happens with a raindrop causing a rainbow.

Is there some science behind that?

Well, well, I'll give you a little bit of background about how I got involved in this, and it wa- it was in 2001.

So, um, I guess this year is 25 years I've been, I've, I've been doing this.

There had been the, um, death of a, of a five-month-old child in San Jose, California, who was left in a, uh, in a hot car.

Um, Kyle Patrick Gilbert, probably a name I will n- n- never, ever forget.

Um, I got a call from the local media going, "Hey, hey Jan, how hot could it have got in that car?" I go, "Well, you know, I don't know, you know, but I'm sure someone's done a, a study." Um, so I did some quick Googling.
