My guest today is Dr. Jamie Justice, Executive Vice President of the Health Domain at the XPRIZE Foundation and Executive Director of XPRIZE HealthSpan, a seven-year global competition offering more than $101 million to teams that can restore muscle, cognitive, and immune function in older adults.

I met Jamie for the first time at the Aspen Ideas Festival this summer, where she appeared on several panels on aging and longevity, and I came away wanting to continue the conversation in more depth.

We talk about why longevity has captured so much attention in the last decade and what is driving it beyond the money.

She is careful with evidence, direct about what we do not yet know, and refreshingly unwilling to oversell a field that is full of people selling it.

She also has a clear view on where the consumer longevity market helps and where it does us harm.

So today is a pretty special podcast with Jamie Justice, whom I met at a recent meeting for the first time.

You know, this is not just CCP, this is also, uh, the Emirates, for example.

I was just having conversation with, with, uh, Jamie Justice, who heads our, our life sciences at XPRIZE, and she was saying she went out for a run.

She's a prolific runner, oh my God, getting up at, like, 6:00 AM, but she went out for a run at, like, 10:00 PM at night in the streets of Dubai, and she felt she would never do that in the US, and she felt completely safe.

I mean, so you're trading some level of civil liberties.
